The fortified city of Aigues Mortes and the sandy beaches of Grau du Roi and Port Camargue are near by this extraordinary area, where bulls, horses and pink flamingos go about freely.
Numerous events punctuate the whole season, the votive festivals follow the Camargue races and the annual pilgrimage of gypsies to the Saintes Maries de la Mer has become a major event in the region.
Many hiking and mountain biking trails dot the area.
